What Estradiol 0.1% Gel 0.75 mg Packets Treats
What is Estradiol 0.1% Gel 0.75 mg Packets?
Estradiol 0.1% Gel is a clear, fast-drying gel that contains estradiol, the main estrogen made by the ovaries. Each single-dose foil packet holds 0.75 grams of gel, which delivers 0.75 mg of estradiol through the skin. It is the generic version of Divigel and is FDA-approved to treat moderate to severe hot flashes and night sweats (vasomotor symptoms) due to menopause. It comes in five strengths, from 0.25 mg to 1.25 mg, so your provider can use the lowest dose that controls your symptoms.

Medical Review & Sources
Estradiol 0.1% Gel 0.75 mg Packets FAQ
What is estradiol gel used for?
Estradiol 0.1% gel treats moderate to severe hot flashes and night sweats caused by menopause. It delivers estrogen through the skin once a day.
Is this the same as Divigel?
Yes. It is the generic version of Divigel, with the same active ingredient (estradiol 0.1%) in the same single-dose packet strengths.
Do I need a prescription for estradiol gel?
Yes. You complete a short telehealth visit, and a licensed provider decides whether estradiol gel is right for you.
How does ordering and shipping work?
After you complete a health questionnaire, a licensed provider reviews your information. If a prescription is issued, your medication ships from a licensed U.S. pharmacy directly to your door.
How do I apply estradiol gel?
Once a day, squeeze out the whole packet and spread it over about a 5 by 7 inch area of your upper thigh, switching thighs each day. Let it dry before dressing, wait 1 hour before washing the area, and wash your hands afterward.
Do I need to take progesterone with estradiol gel?
If you still have your uterus, your provider will usually add a progestogen to lower the risk of endometrial cancer. Women who have had a hysterectomy usually do not need one.
Can estradiol gel rub off on others?
Yes. Estradiol can transfer through skin contact. Let the gel dry, cover the area with clothing, and wash your hands so children and partners do not come into contact with it.
What are the most common side effects?
The most common side effects are spotting, breast tenderness, vaginal yeast infections, and cold symptoms. Contact your provider right away for leg swelling, chest pain, sudden vision changes, or unusual vaginal bleeding.
